Why Skills for Health?
The Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF) was developed by Skills for Health to standardise mandatory & statutory training. It also creates a benchmark of core skills that nurses and healthcare staff can achieve.
It gives confidence to employers that a minimum set of training standards have been met and more importantly, delivered by a trusted source.
The Core Skills Training Framework has been adopted by the NHS, bank staff, employment agencies and independent healthcare providers and is compliant with LPP (London Procurement Partnership) mandatory and statutory training framework
All training modules are mapped to the Core Skills Training Framework learning objectives, guaranteeing high quality knowledge delivered by qualified, motivated and professional trainers.
The Health and Safety Group offer the non-practical element of the Mandatory Training Course in two formats:-
Continual Professional development (CPD) is an ongoing process that is undertaken during an individual's professional career, often for the purpose of revalidation. It is an important tool to ensure individuals remain confident and competent within their chosen profession.
Individuals who have been awarded professional membership by a regulatory body will have to undertake activities which amount to gaining CPD Hours. In the case of formally regulated bodies such as the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) individuals are required to document the amount of CPD Hours they accumulate. This may then be used as evidence to retain professional membership and/or licenses to practice.
